Avenues Learning Innovation Center is the first presence of Avenues World School in China. The project transforms an unoccupied office villa into a multi-functional facility comprising of two “Small World” Classrooms for toddlers on 1st and 2nd level, a Master Academy Program with studio and seminar rooms on B1 level, a prefunction & lecture room for guests on B1 level, multiple interview rooms for potential students and parents on 2nd and 3rd level, and office spaces for internal use on 3rd and 4th levels. During school breaks, students from Avenues New York and San Paulo campus will come to this center to attend a 2-3 week “Master Academy Program” which focuses its themes on “Creativity and Technology”. Students have created their first robots and 3D printers here. The interior design uses oak, stainless steel, terrazzo and low iron glass to create an elite, exclusive, but welcoming feel. The landscape design uses wood decking and vertical green planting wall as two major design elements throughout the project to hide the exposed ugly structures in the original courtyards. The continuous use of wood decking from the vertical wall surface to the horizontal ground surface creates a flowing feel and minimize the collision accidents for the young kids.
